Notes for Amy Booker
Amy Booker Webb had her own ideas about religion. She was not a member of the Spring Grove Presbyterian Church, founded by her husband John. She attended the Ebenezer Methodist Church, also in Oak Hill. At a memorial service for Amy at Ebenezer, May 24, 1835, Rev. Jesse Rankin, a Presbyterian, and Rev. H.T. Weatherly, a Methodist, each delivered a funeral sermon. Rev. Rankin said, "It would be superfluous to speak here of her deportment in the various relations of wife, mother, mistress, neighbor and member of the church." Rev. Weatherly said, "Our sister to whom we pay this last tribute of affection and respect departed this life in peace, March 25, 1835, in the 82nd year of her age. She had been the mother of thirteen children, and 90 grandchildren and great-grandchildren survive her. She had been a member of the M.E. Church for 48 years, and her home was always a welcome home for ministers of the gospel of any denomination."592

All sources of data are documented on the “Person Sheet” for each individual. My early data often came from less-than-reliable sources (e.g., “Sarah’s genealogy pages”). If the only sources for a person is something like that or worse there is no listed source for data, please take the information as only a suggestion and not a fact.
