Passed away at his residence in Sacramento on August 22, 2003 at the age of 87 years. A native of Richardton, North Dakota, a resident of Sacramento for 67 years. Beloved husband of 66 years to Helen Scharosch. Loving father of Marvin Scharosch (Norma), Jerry Scharosch (Cathy), Frances Christiansen (David) and Jeanne Grieve (Michael). Devoted grandfather of Brian Scharosch, Shannon Crawford, Jeffrey Scharosch, Wendy Scharosch Tandy, Daniel Callahan, Kelly Lawrence, Melissa Grieve and Natalie Bee. Caring brother of Veronica Fritzsche (George) and Katie Rawson. Also survived by 8 great-grandchildren. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, The Holy Name Society, Immaculate Conception Senior Citizens, Good Sams Travel Group and very active in the Sacramento Food Bank. Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2003 at 7:30 PM at Immaculate Conception Church, 3263 1st Ave., Sacramento. A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, August 29, 2003 at 11:00 AM, also at Immaculate Conception Church. Interment to follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Remembrances to the Sacramento Food Bank or Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in lieu of flowers.
