I do not recall where the following information came from:

Named after James Benjamin Moore, but his name was J.B. He was woundedon the beach on D-Day June 6, 1944.
Service number - 78536947; US Army Infantry - service dates1942-1944?

As stated in Fannie's bible:

J.B. Moore age 26 years 11 mon 9 days went to camp at Camp Woldys FridayDec. 31, 1943. Then to Camp Fanin. Then to Camp Fort George G. Meade, MdSept 10, 1944 Landed on foreign land Nov 7, 1944. J.B. got back to theStates Oct. 12, 1945 Got home the 26th of October. Got his discharge the20th October at Camp Chaffie, Ark. J. B. Moore went back and re-enlistedApril 5, 1946. Was sent to Camp Hood, Tex. Was sent to Camp Kilmar, N.J.December 20, 1946. Got his discharge Feb. 23, 1947.
