It has been said that David died as a very young child, no record of death or burial has been found. It is not known what the cause of death was. This child has been the basis for the theory, along with other facts discovered that the family is related to the David W. Thornton in Heard and later in Carroll Counties of Georgia. To carry this assumption a little further, since there are numerous other David's maybe the W. stands for Wesley as this was also a popular name in the family.
