Notes for Francis Webb
Francis Webb served as a Midshipman in the Virginia State Navy for three years, 1779-1782, in the Revolutionary War. In 1795 he applied the Virginia Legislature for pay from 1779 to the close of the war. This request was denied for reasons unknown. However, on 24 Jul 1835, warrant # 8173 for 2666-2/3 acres was issued to James and John Webb, heirs of Francis Webb (Land Office Records). Francis moved to Georgia in 1810 and settled in Hancock County where he died in 1811.592

All sources of data are documented on the “Person Sheet” for each individual. My early data often came from less-than-reliable sources (e.g., “Sarah’s genealogy pages”). If the only sources for a person is something like that or worse there is no listed source for data, please take the information as only a suggestion and not a fact.
