John Clower and wife, Margaret They are found in the early court records of Shenandoah Co., Va. For the years 1772 and 1783, when they executed a deed. (Deed Book D, pp. 199-200 and Court Order Book, Shenandoah Co., Va., 1772-1774 and 1781-1784).
John Clower is shown in the 1790 Census of Shenandoah Co., Va. (spelled Clour, with a family numbering six. His descendants have not yet been fully traced, however apparently many of the Clower families found in Grainger, Knox and Roane Counties, Tenn. In the 19th Century sprang from this couple.
