Something is amiss between the two entries for Joseph Sumner. The fifth-born child named Joseph is said to have died on September 15, 1798 while the seventh-born child named Joseph as well is said to have been born on July 14, 1798. It does not make sense for them to have named the seventh child after the fifth child BEFORE the fifth child was born.3528 However, the two Josephs share a headstone that gives the same death dates and gives this Joseph an age of 14 months at death in agreement with being born before his older brother of the same name died.3549
