The funeral of the late H.W. DREW, who resided at 453 South Grand Street, was held at the Ellis Chapel, Friday at 2 o'clock p.m. His death having occurred on April 28.
MR. DREW is survived by his wife to whom he was married twenty-five years ago at Grand River, Iowa, where he was a merchant for several years. The deceased was born in Livingston County, Michigan, in l85l, and when a young man, he went to Springfield, Mass., and learned the machinist trade, becoming a master mechanic. Later he was foreman of the round house for the Santa Fe Railroad at Tucson, Arizona, for eleven years afterwards engaging in business at Grand River, Iowa, until ten years ago when he moved to California.
MR. DREW was a quiet man of sterling character. He always kept his promise with everyone and it was always a pleasure for him to do a kindness for others. Beside his wife there is left to mourn his departure, a sister-in-law, MRS. IOWA SIPHERD and niece, HELEN, and a large number of relatives in Michigan. A nephew, JUDGE LYONS of Howell, Mich., who came to Orange for the funeral.
