OBERLIN -- Willard D. NOREN, 76, of Oberlin died Tuesday (March 16, 2004) at his home. He was born Nov. 11, 1927, to David T. and Esther Amanda (Carlson) Noren on a farm southwest of Oberlin. He attended rural grade school and graduated from Decatur Community High School in 1946. On Aug. 5, 1949, he married Esther V. Benda in Herndon Covenant Church in rural Herndon. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Evelyn Noren. Services are Saturday, 2 p.m., at Herndon Covenant Church in Herndon with the Rev. Keith Reuther officiating. Interment will be in Herndon Covenant Cemetery. Visitation is Friday, 8 a.m.-8 p.m., at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin and Saturday after 8 a.m., until service time at the church. Pauls Funeral Home of Oberlin is in charge of the arrangements.

He was born Nov. 11, 1927, to David T. and Esther Amanda (Carlson) Noren on a farm southwest of Oberlin. He attended rural grade school and graduated from Decatur Community High School in 1946.
On Aug. 5, 1949, he married Esther V. Benda in Herndon Covenant Church in rural Herndon. He was a farmer. He farmed southwest of Oberlin and then moved to a farm six miles west of Oberlin in 1952.
He was member of the Herndon Covenant Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Evelyn Noren.
Survivors include his wife, Esther Noren of Oberlin; one son, Steve and wife, Connie Noren of Oberlin; two daughters, Judy and husband, Larry Theland of Salina and Alice and husband, Ken Robson of Ellsworth; one brother, Edwin and wife, Ruth Noren of Cadillac, Mich.; one sister, Geneva and husband, Gordon Christensen of Westminster, Colo.; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
