Notes for Anna Mae Tanner
Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Mae Kappes, 27 and her two daughters, Anna Marie 6, and Janet Louise, 3, all of Pinedale, were conducted Friday at 1 p.m. at the First Congregational Church in Rock Springs. The Reverend Kenneth G. Biel officiating. Burial was in the family plot in Mountain View section of Rock Springs Municipal Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Marvin Hopkins, Charles Raper, Norman Busselle, Perry Binning, Joe Sandagroth, Kay Bowles, Dave "Red" Cuthberltson, all of Pinedale; Ben Clinton, William "Buzz" Robinson, Jack Simkin, Rock Springs; Jim Race, George Race, Frank Sabo, Fred Latinis and Marcel Latinis, all of Hudson.
Mrs. Kappes died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound Monday. Anna Marie and Janet Louise died of gunshot wounds inflicted by their mother. The shooting occurred about 7 a.m. Monday.
Anna Mae was a 1963 graduate of Green River High School and had attended the University of Wyoming. She was a member of the First Congregational Church.
She is survived by her husband, John of Pinedale; her parents, Mr and Mrs Leslie G Tanner of Green River, Patricia Jean Kappes of Rock Springs and Linda Lou Binning of Pinedale; her maternal grandmother, Nora Bigley of Auburn, NE; her paternal grandmother Rose B Anderson of Moberly, MO; her paternal grandfather Clarence Tanner of Oakland, CA, and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
