Notes for Jack Eugene Webb
Received three bronze stars for heroic or meritorious service in Korean Conflict. He attained the rank of Master Sergeant.

Eulogy written by Walter Knittle:

The Chowchilla community was shocked Tuesday, April 10, 1990 when we learned that Jack Webb had died. Many of our church family members had visited with him just three days prior as he attended our Church & School’s 76th Anniversary.

Jack, the oldest of four children, grew up on a diversified dairy ranch near Chowchilla. He attended our Chowchilla Junior Academy for ten years, and then enrolled at Monterey Bay Academy where he was a member of their very first graduating class.

After serving in the Armed Forces during the Korean War, Jack returned to Chowchilla. In 1957, he married Mary Jo Ryals (who worked as a teller at the Bank of America). Seven years later (1964), the Jack Webb family moved to Los Banos (where Jack worked as an auto mechanic, and much of the time at his own shop).

Jack was very active in his church family. He invested several years with the young people in Pathfinders (he even served as an Area Coordinator of the Pathfinders). Jack also had served as Head Deacon of the Los Banos church.

On April 13, 1990, the Webb family held a private burial service one hour prior to a memorial service for Jack. Members of the Los Banos church provided a dinner for the family and relatives.

Jack’s survivors include: Mary Jo Webb, wife; twin sons Jack and Jim; daughter Michele; brothers Lynn and Fred; sister Verda Lyons; mother Mable McMillen; 2 grandchildren; many other relatives and a host of friends. Our sympathy to those who are grieving.

All sources of data are documented on the “Person Sheet” for each individual. My early data often came from less-than-reliable sources (e.g., “Sarah’s genealogy pages”). If the only sources for a person is something like that or worse there is no listed source for data, please take the information as only a suggestion and not a fact.
