Killed while fighting in France during World War I. He was a private in the 49th Battalion (Alberta regiment) of the Canadian Infantry. His serial number was 781499.352,355 A memorial service was held in the Baptist Church in Central Butte, Saskatchewan, Canada on Sunday, April 29, 1917 at 7:30 pm.356
