A male child was born to J. S. Webb on July 31, 1907. Assumedly this is Roland Terry Webb. Dr. Joyner delivered the baby. At the time J. S. Webb lived at 327 E 6th Street.
383 Roland Terry Webb died at the age of 8 months on March 17, 1908 and was taken care of by Dr. Joyner.
380 Putting this together it is certain that the birth and death dates are for the same child.
His obituary read:
381Roland Terry Webb, eight months old son of Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Webb of 221 N. Grand avenue, died Tuesday night at eight o’clock of pneumonia after a short illness. The funeral was conducted Wednesday afternoon at three o’clock from the home by Elder C. C. Hill and burial was made in the South Side cemetery.
A birth record in Roswell, NM indicates that JS Webb had a child on July 30, 1908.
384 This is problematic in that it comes only 245 days before the birth of Max. It is also one day less than a year after the birth of Roland and I am now guessing, since no one in the family remembers him, that this was not an actual birth. I originally entered him as a separate child with the name Henry and the male gender because Fred L Webb thought he had an uncle Henry that was born and died in Roswell, but he is also sure that there is only one uncle buried in Roswell and that is Roland Terry Webb.
