Notes for Richard Webb Sr.
Richard was one of four brothers who came to America in 1629 with their father, Alexander Webb Jr. He emigrated from England to Stamford, Connecticut in 1629 and settled at Norwalk, Connecticut in 1646. From him is descended through Richard: Jonathon, Richard, Silvanus, Silas and Dr George F Webb. When Richard died he bequeathed the entire Webb property to Elizabeth Gregory Webb (his second wife). No children have been identified by this second marriage.
539Settled in Connecticut. Webb Genealogy lists his birthday as both May 5 and May 15 as well as August 20. Probably got date confused with his father's birthday (August 20). Married four times (only know names of two).
One researcher says he had children named Elizabeth, Gregory, and two others (take your pick from Richard, Thomas, Christopher, and Joseph).
Jim and Jill Cruse claim he was listed as a passenger on one of five ships in the Winthrop Fleet.
