ILEEN JOHNSON STEIGER – Hanover, New Jersey
Ileen Johnson Steiger passed to the Lord on December 16, 1980 at the Somerset Hospital, Somerville, New Jersey. Mrs. Steiger lived on Hanover Road in Hanover, New Jersey and was born on October 14, 1899 in Springfield, Tennessee.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Steiger of Hanover, N.J., her parents Robert L. Johnson and Margaret Lee Johnson of Springfield, Tennessee. Mrs. Steiger retired as a commissary worker at Bell Laboratories in 1965.
She was a former member of the First Presbyterian Church of East Hanover and member of the Daughters of the American Revolution of East Hanover Chapter.
Surviving are two children; Robert Steiger of Cedar Knolls, N.J., Margaret Edwards of Boonton, Johnson Henry Steiger of Humble, TX, nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Surviving siblings are Eula Johnson of Nashville, TN and Isaac Johnson of Springfield, TN.
Services will be held at the Braviak Funeral Home on Hanover road at 7:00 p.m. on December 19, 1980 with intermit at the Hanover Cemetery.4298
