Notes for Ernst Arne Toftegaard Christiansen
Ernst was killed by the Danish Resistance during WWII in a forest near Sorø for spying for the Nazis, according to Kristen Ween Christiansen in a remark to Jon Frederick Christiansen upon his return from a trip to Denmark in 1967. KWC continued that nobody in Denmark would tell him this story because they were still too embarassed about it. But according to Birgit Larsen, Verner told her that Ernst had been mistaken for his girlfriend's brother, who was a "hippo" (Nazi policeman), and was killed for this reason.
