6501Twila D. Houser, age 96, passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2011. Twila was born to Zed and Alba (Packer) Miller on December 25, 1914 in Friend, Nebraska. She received her early education in Nebraska. On June 9, 1937 she married, Sam Houser in Missouri. She loved working in the grape vineyards and had worked at Good Year making fuel tank protectors for the B-52 Bomber during the war. Twila loved quilting, sewing and making Teddy Bears and other stuffed animals, everyone loved her Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls. She also enjoyed finding a good barging at yard sales. She loved collecting coins, which she started collecting many years ago with her father. Twila loved spending time with her grandson and more recently her great granddaughter, she loved and cherished time spent with her entire family. She is survived by her son, Tim Houser (Fran) of Grandview, WA, grandson, Mike Houser (Steph) and great granddaughter Jaidyn Houser all of Prosser, WA. One sister-in-law, Bert Houser, one brother-in-law, Ray Belling and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Alba and Zed Miller, husband, Sam Houser, sister, Leota and brother, Orlo. A Graveside service will be held at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens, Sunnyside, WA. on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers the family requests that you make a donation to the charity of your choice in Twila’s name. Smith Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
