Notes for Amanda E Lee
William E Webb indicates that she was part Cherokee Indian.46

A transcription of Sumner County, TN marriages from 1858 lists Amanda E. Lee married to Samuel Smith Webb on April 8, 185886. Looking at the original document, the original handwriting looks like “Hunt T Webb” which has often been reported. However, the original copy has a legible “Samuel S” written above the hard to read part that looks like Hunt T.

James G Lee moved to Sumner by 1820 and was living in District 12 of Sumnery County in 1850--that’s a different Lee family.88 Could possibly have been related to John T Lee.

All sources of data are documented on the “Person Sheet” for each individual. My early data often came from less-than-reliable sources (e.g., “Sarah’s genealogy pages”). If the only sources for a person is something like that or worse there is no listed source for data, please take the information as only a suggestion and not a fact.
