Notes for Hannah Matilda Peterson Englund
Her obituary read:

Mrs. David Larson

Mrs. David Larson, former resident of this vicinity, died Jan. 25, 1940, at her home near Norquay, Sask., Canada. She had been in failing health for some time but was able to attend to her household duties. The end came very suddenly and was a shock to relatives and friends. She had reached the age of 69 years, 6 months and 4 days.

Funeral services were held the following Sunday at the Bethany Mission church and were very largely attended. The pastor, Rev. Leonard Quarnstrom, officiated. The six oldest sons acted as pall bearers, and bore their mother to her last resting place in the church cemetery.

Hannah Mathilda Larson was born in Vastergotland, Sweden, on July 21, 1870. In 1890, at twenty years of age, she emigrated to Iowa and located in Chariton. She was married here threee years later, on Sept. 27, 1893, to David Alexius Larson. Twelve children came to bless this home, all of whom are living.

In the spring of 1906 Mrs. Larson and family moved from Chariton to Norquay, Sask., Canada, where they located on the farm at which she resided until death claimed her.

Mrs. Larsons was a quiet, home loving woman with a kindly and cheerful manner which endeared her to all whom she met. She took an active part in the Christian work in her community, and when the Norquay Mission church was organized she became a charter miember. She was also a charter member of the Ladies’ Aid Society. As a young girl in Sweden she accepted Christ as her personal Savior and remained faithful to the end.

Although she had twelve chilldren of her own to care for, yet she opened her heart and home for two other children who had been deprived of a mother’s love.

Surviving her are her husband; eight sons, Carl, Samuel, William, Victor, Otto, Leonard, Bert and Fridolk; four daughters, Mrs. W. Abrahamson, Mrs. J. Gustafson, Mrs. C. Anderson and Mrs. O. Nolander; two foster children, Harry Nystedt and Eugenia Augustson; four brothers, Carl and Robert in Sweden, and Otto and Arvid in the United States; thirty-two grandchildren, and other relatives and a host of friends.2027
