WHITTINGTON

Arthur William Whittington , 93, of

Lincoln, died Monday, November 15, 2010 at Milder Manor. Arthur was born in Lincoln on September 27, 1917 to Fred and Nora (Griffing) Whittington . He served in the U.S. Army during W.W.II at Camp J.T. Robinson in Little Rock, Ark, achieving the rank of Sergeant. He married Frieda L. Kraft on April 13, 1941 in the Chapel at Ft. Robinson in Little Rock. They were married over 69 years. After retiring from Burlington Northern Railroad in 1981, he and Frieda owned and operated Whitt’s Antiques in Lincoln. Member of First Presbyterian Church.

Survived by: Wife Frieda of Lincoln, Daughter Jenny Corman of Lincoln, Granddaughter Amy Watson of Lincoln, Great granddaughter Ashley Vaughan of Montana, Great granddaughter Jaime Woodall of Montana, Great granddaughter Heather Woodall of Montana, Great grandson Nathan Watson of Lincoln, Great-great grandson Warren Vaughan of Montana, Adopted Sister Bess Whittington of Lincoln, Brother-inlaw and Sister-in-law Earl and Arlene Kraft of Lincoln. Preceded in death by parents.

Graveside service 10 am, Monday, November 29, 2010, Lincoln Memorial Park (meet at gate 2). Memorial service 11 a.m., Monday, November 29, 2010, First Presbyterian Church, 840 South 17th Street.
