His obituary in the May 31, 1990 issue (page 11B) of the San Jose Mercury News416 reads:
Webb, Bert W. -- Aged 55 of Lompoc, CA. Entered into rest on May 28, 1990 in San Jose, Ca. Beloved husband of Dolores Webb. Loving father of Eileen Hansen, Yvonne Webb and Brent Webb. Step-father of Patricia Cabano and Lorraine Ortiz. Devoted grandfather of seven. Cherished son of Harold J. Johnson, Mr. Webb was retired from the U.S. Navy and a member of the Fleet Reserve #292, American Legion #211, Life Member of Veterans of Foreign Wars #1717 and the Lompoc Elks Lodge #2274.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 1, 1990 at 10:00 a.m. at Oak Hill Funeral Home’s Chapel of Roses, 300 Curtner Ave., San Jose, Ca. A Vigil Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the above chapel on Thursday. Interment Oak Hill Memorial Park.

Webb, Bert W., 55, of San Jose, counselor for Department of Justice. Vigil service at 7:30 p.m. today at Chapel of Roses, Oak Hill Funeral Home, San Jose. Service at 10 a.m. Friday at same chapel. Burial following in Oak Hill Memorial Park, San Jose.
