Mrs. Elizabeth Deweese, a former resident of Lamar County, died Thursday night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. R.E. Revell, in Hope, Ark. The remains were brought to Paris Friday night and were taken to Mount Olive cemetery north of Reno, where the funeral was held Saturday afternoon,conducted by Rev. W.M. Wright, pastor of the First Baptist church. She was 87 years old and was the widow of J.S. Deweese, who lived near Emberson a number of years and was an old settler of the county. She is survived by the following children; W.A. Deweese of Powderly, Mrs. L.J. Moore of Caviness, J.M. Deweese of Lindsay, Ok., Mrs. R.E. Revell and, Mrs. Josie Crownover of Hope, Ark. She leaves forty grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
