Larson--Josephine Matilda Hoaglund was born in Sweden April 21, 1877, and went to her rest July 23, 1942. In 1894 she was united in marriage with John Oscar Larson. Seven children were born, six of whom survive: Mrs. Alma Hemme, Joseph Larson, and Mrs. Mable Webb of Chowchilla; Albert Larson of National City, Aaron Larson of Cristobal, Canal Zone; and Mrs. Maude Eberhardt of Placerville. Twenty-five grand-children also survive. Sister Larson became an Adventist in 1902. She lived a courageous, consistent Christian life and was an inspiration in the family, church, and neighborhood.

Funeral services will be held Sunday from the R. S. Jay chapel for Mrs. Josie M. Larson, 63, who passed away yesterday at a sanitarium in San Diego following a six weeks illness. Rites will be conducted at 2:30 o'clock and interment will follow in the Arbor Vitae cemetery.

A native of Sweden, Mrs. Larson came to the United States when she was 12 years old and has been living in the Chowchilla community since 1914. She was a charter member of the Chowchilla Seventh Day Adventist church. She was the wife of the late J. O. Larson of Chowchilla.

She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Alma Hemme, and Mrs. Mable Webb of Chowchilla, and Mrs. Maude Erkhardt of Placerville; three sons, Joseph E. of Chowchilla, Albert C. of San Diego and Aaron V. of Christobal, Panama.
