Kathryn (Kay) Zane, 88, of Georgetown, Texas, passed away peacefully early September 10, 2008, at her home in Sun City. Kay was born December 28, 1919, in Richmond, MO, to Martha Grove Daugherty and Frank Daugherty. Kay graduated from Ft. Madison High School, Ft. Madison, IA, in 1938, and worked at the Scheaffer Pen Company during World War II. Kay and Lee were married on September 20,1946, and began their family shortly thereafter. They moved 19 times for Lee’s career in retail, eventually settling in Sun City, Georgetown, in 1996. Kay made a wonderful life for Lee and her children, supported Lee in his business career, and supported her children in their education and lives. Kay always put others first, and lived a life of grace and kindness. Kay is survived by her husband, Lee, of 62 years and her sister Alice Montgomery of Titusville, FL. Four children survive: Robert and wife Lu, of Austin,TX, Thomas and wife Becky, of Rensselaer, NY, Susan and husband Michael Polini, of Virginia Beach, VA, and David and wife Susan, of Austin, TX; and six grandchildren: Matthew Polini, Jessie Polini, Tim Speer (Susan Davis), Joseph Hassage, Kimball Zane, and Caleb Zane; as well as numerous family and friends. She is preceded in death by her mother Martha Daugherty, father Frank Daugherty, and brother Edward Daugherty. Kay was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Georgetown, and was active in their Lady’s Circle and Pathfinders groups, and Sun City Book Club, Bridge Club, and Senior University. Family was the center of Kay’s life. She loved them dearly and was very proud of all of them. Kay recently told them, “I am 88 years old and I have had a great life.” Visitation will be held on Friday, September 12, 2008, at 6 pm to 8 pm at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel, 393 North Interstate 35, Georgetown, TX, 78627. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2008, at 11 am, First United Methodist Church (in the McKinney Ministry Center Building), 410 East University Ave, Georgetown, TX, 78626; Rev. Brenda Adkins officiating. Reception following in the McKinney Ministry Center. Interment will follow at Austin Memorial Park Cemetery, 2800 Hancock Drive, Austin, TX, 78731. If desired, in lieu of flowers, donations could be made to The Caring Place in Georgetown, or Stained Glass Windows fund for The First United Methodist Church in Georgetown. Hemme--August C. Hemme was born in Germany 82 years ago and fell asleep near Chowchilla, Calif. The funeral service was conducted July 11, 1934. For years Brother Hemme was a member of our body, and his pleasant face will not soon be forgotten. He is survived by his wife, two sons, two daughters and eighteen grandchildren.

They became Seventh-day Adventists in 1900 and since 1916 had been members of the Chowchilla church. She is survived by 4 children, 17 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, a brother, and a sister.

He had 2 grandchildren, a sister and a brother. Brother Hemme was a member of the Chowchilla church and went to his rest with the joyous hope of an early resurrection. He died May 8, 1951.

Dr. Sutter is survived by his wife, Mrs. June L. of Orlando; two daughters, Mrs. Rozanne Wilson of West Palm Beach and Mrs. Dorothy Cobb of Tallahassee; and four grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Sanitarium church, with D. R. Castonia officiating, and A. D. Burch, Herman C. Ray, and Rus Adams assisting.

Larson--Josephine Matilda Hoaglund was born in Sweden April 21, 1877, and went to her rest July 23, 1942. In 1894 she was united in marriage with John Oscar Larson. Seven children were born, six of whom survive: Mrs. Alma Hemme, Joseph Larson, and Mrs. Mable Webb of Chowchilla; Albert Larson of National City, Aaron Larson of Cristobal, Canal Zone; and Mrs. Maude Eberhardt of Placerville. Twenty-five grand-children also survive. Sister Larson became an Adventist in 1902. She lived a courageous, consistent Christian life and was an inspiration in the family, church, and neighborhood.

Besides the husband, children, and grandchildren that survive, is a sister, Mrs. Jessie Hilliard, who is a missionary in Formosa.
