William "Bill" Young died August 6, 2016, at his home near Denton, at the age of 54. Bill will always be remembered and respected for his brave and courageous battle with Lou Gehrigs disease for the last 4+ years. Bill loved military and American history. He was a very proud American and had the opportunity to serve in the Navy on the U.S.S. Dwight D. Eisenhower. Bill's greatest passion was his love for his daughters.

He was preceded in death by his father Rodney Young. Bill is survived by his mother Donna Noonan Kaura and husband Frank, daughters Jessie and Katie Young, a sister Michelle, a brother Randy, and half brothers Rodney Jr., Danny and David.

The family appreciates the help given by the Veterans Administration, the 24/7 nursing care of Laurie Young, and encouragement and visits of Randy and Leeann Young.

A celebration of life is scheduled from 5:30 to 8:30 on Saturday, August 13, at the American Legion Post 335, 7226 Lancaster St, Denton. Casual dress.

Hudson; born in Somerset Co., Penn., Jan. 26, 1822, but removed in early childhood with his father’s family to Holmes Co., Ohio, where he resided till 31 years of age; then removed to Illinois, locating in White Oak Township, this county, and engaged in farming; in the spring of 1858 he removed to his present home. He has served as Commissioner of Highways six years; owns 200 acres of land in Hudson Township. Married, in 1849, Eliza Hospelhorn, who was born in Harrison Co., Ohio; ten children by this union, seven of whom are living — George, John, Mary, (wife of William Young), Emanuel, Jane, James, and Francis; lost three; Samuel died in 1854 ; others died in infancy.

William Wilkerson Stevenson, age about 70, ex-Confederate soldier, died at the home of his son at Tip Top, on the 20th, after a few days illness, and was buried at John Bowmans on the 22nd. Mr. Stevenson was the father of some 17 or 18 children, having been married 3 times.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 5, 2009, in Humboldt Presbyterian Church in Humboldt, Tenn., with the Rev. Walter Baker and the Rev. Paul Means officiating. Burial will be in Yorkville Cemetery in Tennessee. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 4, 2009, at Watson Funeral Home in Eldorado and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at the church.

Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Humboldt, Tenn., or Eldorado.

Burney was a parts manager for a Chevy dealership in Humboldt, Tenn.

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Humboldt, Tenn. He graduated from Yorkville High School. He joined the Civil Conservation Corps and was stationed at Frozen Head in eastern Tennessee, where he met his wife.

Survivors include three daughters, Martha Vernon of Cumming, Ga., Linda Drone of Eldorado and Carole Williams of Atlanta; grandchildren, Eric Drone of Norris City, Brent Drone of Oakland, Calif., Chris Vernon of Franklin, Tenn. and Pat Vernon of Orlando, Fla.; and eight great-grandchildren.

HUMBOLDT, Tenn. Miss Linda Ann Zarecor, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Burney Cawthorne Zarecor, became the bride Aug. 24 of David Leon Drone of Shawneetown, Ill., son of Mr. and Mrs. John Drone of Shawneetown.

The ceremony took place at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. William James as officiant. A program of nuptial music was presented by Mrs. Ewing B. Jackson, organist, and Miss Diane Miller of Elkton, Ky., vocalist.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of silk faced peau de soie designed with an empire waistline and Alencon lace trim on the midriff. Her veil of English illusion fell from a crown of pearls and she carried a bouquet of Phaleonopsis orchids and tuberoses.

Miss Martha Zarecor was her sister's maid of honor and Miss Carole Zarecor, another sister, was a bridesmaid. Bill Carter served as best man. Ushers were Joe Overby of Murray, Ky. and Ralph Hirshbrunner of Columbia, Tenn.

Immediately after the ceremony, the bride’s parents entertained at a reception in the church parlors.

Later Mr. and Mrs. Drone left for a wedding trip. Upon their return they will reside in Shawneetown where they are members of the school faculty.

Opal Uldine Harless, 93, of Morgantown, died June 14, 2016 at home.

She was a homemaker and a Protestant and enjoyed quilting, cooking and crossword puzzles. She made quilts for the Morgantown Ronald McDonald House, for the WVU Hospital Children's Families and many others for family members and friends, which she presented to them as yearly presents. She loved to reminisce with family and friends, and could tell stories for hours without ever repeating the same one.

She was preceded in death by husband, Fred Gilbert Harless; daughter, Janette Rorror; parents, James Maloney and Florence Louise Webb Scarbro; sisters, Lillian Marcum and Virginia Holstein; brother, Rev. Paul Scarbro; granddaughter, Heather Brown Redden; and grandson, Christopher Dan Halstead.

Surviving are her daughters, Sharon Marks of Kingwood, Geneva Harless of Peytona, Pamela Jane (Randy) Halstead of Peytona, Katherine (Jim) Doss of Morgantown, Patricia (Arnold Jr.) Darnell of Maben and Melica Idler of Morgantown; sons, Fred (Connie) Harless Jr. of Danville and John (Barbara) Harless of Twin Poplars; brother, James Alvin Scarbro of Sylvester; grandchildren, Ray and Mary Katherine Crawford, John, Rodney, J.R. and Dustin Harless, Andrea and Parker Idler, Amanda Doss (Chris) Connolly, Shannon Marie Brown, Amber Wilkinson (Jason) Castle and Roger and Michael Rorrer; great-grandchildren, Austin, Adreona, Aidan, Jessica Ann, Ryan, Nevaeh, Natalie, Lucas, Micah, Makayla, David, Jessica, Juliann and Dessalyn; and numerous other family members and friends.

Funeral will be 1 p.m. Saturday, June 18, at Leonard Johnson Funeral Home, Marmet. Burial will follow in Harless Cemetery, Arnett.
