Some fifty relatives and friends from this community, motored to Glendale last night, for the beautiful wedding of Miss Elvera L. Borchard, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Borchard of Orange, and Virgil E. Todd, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Todd of Anaheim, which had for its setting, the picturesque Little Church of the Flowers. A profusion of blossoms in vivid hues, supplemented those always a-bloom in the little church, adding to the charm of the scene.

A musical program included in addition to the usual bridal airs of “Lohengrin’s Wedding Chorus” as a processional, and Mendelsshon’s Wedding March as the recessional, played by Miss Edith Damewood, two beautifully rendered solos by Miss Carrol Carlson, who preceded the nuptial rites with “I Love You Truly, “ and at their close, sang “Together.” Miss Carlson was very smart in soft green georgette while Miss Damewood at the piano wore a becoming costume of orchid georgette.

Serenely lovely in her gown of snowy taffeta and lace, with a long veil falling from a coronet of orange blossoms, Miss Borchard trod the flowers scattered in her pathway by little Miss Dawn Hall, in crisp blue taffeta. She was further attended by two close friends, whose bouffant frocks were chosen to heighten the lovely pastel coloring of the scene.

Miss Leona Todd as honor matron, wore taffeta in delicate amethyst tints, while miss Esther Hall, as bridesmaid, had selected apple green in the same lovely material and style.

Henry Todd assister (sic) his borther as best man, and Hugh Vanhoy completed the wedding party. The Rev. A. C. Bode, pastor of the St. John Lutheran church, Orange, accompanied the wedding guests, and in his impressive manner, conducted the nuptial rites.

Following the ceremony, the new Mr. and Mrs. Todd received the congratulations of their friends, at a formal reception staged in the palm room of the Glendale Tuesday Afternoon clubhouse.

Mr. Todd conducts his own truck service business in Anaheim, and his bride has been one of the capable young women of the Orange County Title company. The young people are now on their way to the Yosemite, and will erturn (sic) to their home in Harwood Place, Orange, to greet their friends after the middle of July.
