Funeral services for Jimmie Wood, 10, tragic victim of an accidental rifle shot at Buttonwillow, who died yesterday in a local hospital, will be held at 3 o'clock tomorrow afternoon from Doughty-Calhoun-O'Meara chapel, with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
A coroner's investigation nearly completed today reconstructed the story of the accident. Jimmie, his brother Leland, and their stepfather, Carols Rea, had gone rabbit hunting and the boys had got out of the car to shoot at a rabbit, but it ran. Returning to the car, Leland, 12, got in beside his stepfather, who was at the wheel, with the loaded and cocked .22 calibre rifle across his knees. Jimmie climbed in beside him and Rea moved to place the gun back of the seat in the coupe when it was discharged, the bullet striking Jimmie in the abdomen. The accident occurred Wednesday afternoon and the boy died shortly after noon yesterday.

During his student days he spent the summers in colporteur work. Brother Gloor completed the medical courses with the College of Medical Evangelists’ class of 1923. With his wife, Mrs. Elsie Lord Gloor, he entered self-supporting missionary work in Esperanzo, Mexico. Their mission hospital was the only one in a radius of 150 miles. Health reasons compelled their return to the States. he has been a leader in the church in the Watsonville area for the past 15 years. He entered into rest March 20, 1949. He leaves his wife, 2 daughters, Grace and Constance, a son Kenneth, a sister and a brother.
