Lola Mae Compton. 87, of Batesville died Friday, September 20, 2013.

She was born on November 24, 1925 in Fifty Six, Arkansas to Chester Vernon and Fannie Mae (Leaser) Sweat. She graduated from Fifty-Six High School, was a member of the McHue Extension Homemakers Club and the Southside Church of Christ.

Strong-willed and very independent, she was very detail oriented. She was a very loyal friend and always fed anyone who came to visit.

She enjoyed sewing, quilting, crafts, and gardening. For over ten years, she worked at J. K. Sutherland as a poultry and USDA inspector.

She is survived by her sons, Bill Sutterfield and his wife, Marguerite of Searcy, Dan Compton of Fort Gipson, OK; daughter, Shirley Foster and her husband, Kelley of Batesville; seven grandchildren, Chris Foster, Dwayne Foster, Amanda Foster, Brad Qualls, Jason Qualls, Katie Compton Presley and Kristie Compton; one step grandchild, Genie Clark; eight great-grandchildren, Matthew Sutterfield, Katie Sutterfield, Tiffany Sutterfield, Hannah Foster, Chloe Foster, Malaki Foster, Haley Spalding and Colton Presley; brothers, Charlie Sweat of Mountain View, Lloyd Gene Sweat and his wife, Janie of Centerton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Dolon Sutterfield; second husband, John Charles Compton; daughter, Pat Qualls; grandson, Michael Sutterfield; three brothers; and three sisters.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Southside Church of Christ with Bob Harris officiating. Burial will follow at Kyler Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.

Pallbearers will be Chris Foster, Dwayne Foster, Greg Clark, Gary Mize, Craig Cupp, and Jerry Bowen. Honorary pallbearers are Kelley Foster, Ray Qualls, Brad Qualls, Jason Qualls, and Malaki Foster.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.

Alfred Hobert Sweat, age 95, entered this world July 6, 1921 near West Plains, Missouri and made his journey to his Heavenly home April 21, 2017.

In 1942, Mr. Sweat joined the US Army Air Corp and was stationed stateside. While stationed in Lake Lure, NC, after a short three week courtship, Alfred married Colleen Ruff of Polk County, NC. Alfred and Colleen were blessed with 58 years of marriage prior to Colleen joining her Heavenly Father in 2002. Alfred and Collen had two daughters and four sons in their marriage.

Mr. Sweat worked most of his adult life as a mechanic in Missouri and North Carolina. Alfred worked with his best friend, Whitson Edwards, of North Carolina, for many years.

Alfred is survived by both daughters, Shirleen Brookings of Hootentown and Nancy Sweatt of Crane. He is also survived by three sons and family. Alfred, Frank and Robin of DeSoto, MO; David and Ronda of Robertsville, MO; Roger and Terry of Fredericktown, MO. Alfred is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; all brothers and sisters; his son, Mickael Lee Sweatt; three grandsons and one granddaughter.

Alfred believed in the Word of God. He was a preacher of the gospel and greatly enjoyed old time tent meetings.

He was loved dearly by his family and friends and will be missed by many.

His visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 28, 2017, at Walnut Lawn Funeral Home, with funeral services following at 11:00 a.m. The Patriot Guard will lead the procession to the burial in Jamesville Cemetery with full military honors at the graveside service.

His care has been entrusted to Walnut Lawn Funeral Home, Ltd. DeGraffenreid-Wood-Crematory.

Phyllis Ann Campbell, age 57 of Rogers, Arkansas passed away Sunday, October 9, 2016 at the Earlene Howard Hospice Home in Springdale, Arkansas.
The daughter of Lester D. and Lucy Anna (England) Muncy was born on June 13, 1959 in Kansas City, Missouri.

She had lived in Northwest Arkansas since 1993 and had worked as a caregiver for Superior Care in Rogers. She was a member of the First Apostolic Pentecostal Church at Cowell, Arkansas.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her father Lester D. Muncy; her mother Lucy Anna Schmidt; two brothers Charlie Sweat and Brian Sweat and a great-grandson Konner Watts.

Survivors are her husband Charles James Campbell of Rogers, Arkansas; three sons Charles Lievsay of Dardanelle, Arkansas, Cecil Lievsay of Dardanelle, Arkansas and C.J. Campbell of Lowell, Arkansas; two daughters Rose Campbell of Lowell, Arkansas and Mary Ann Vickery of Plummerville, Arkansas; four brothers Leslie Muncy of Springfield, Missouri, Elmer Muncy of Seligman, Missouri, Donnie Muncy of Springfield, Missouri and Arthur Muncy of Lowell, Arkansas; three sisters Beverly Robertson of Lowell, Arkansas, Tonni Campbell of Fayetteville, Arkansas and Robin Clark of Fayetteville, Arkansas; ten grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and many other family and friends who will mourn her passing.

Funeral services will be 2 P.M. Saturday, October 15, 2016 at the Deer School Gymnasium at Deer, Arkansas with Rev. Chad Moore officiating. Burial will follow in the Deer Cemetery under the direction of Coffman Funeral Home of Jasper.

Pallbearers will be C.J. Campbell, Lester Clark, Todd Muncy, Daniel Sweat, Casey Campbell and Bobby Wayne Henderson.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 P.M. Friday, October 14, 2016 at Coffman Funeral Home in Jasper.

Charles William Sweat, age 64, of Newtonia, MO, passed away at 2:45 p.m. on Monday, February 24, 2014, while at the Bentonview Park Health and Rehabilitation Center in Monett, MO. 

Charles was born on March 30, 1949 in Pocahontas, AR, the son of the late Bracy and Lucy Ann (England) Sweat. During his working years, Charles had been a U.S. Marshall, he had worked for the D.E.A. and had owned and operated several saw mills. Charles was an ordained minister in the Pentecostal faith. He always enjoyed making people laugh and helping the less fortunate. 

On February 17, 2001 in Buffalo, MO, Charles and Linda Ann Hawkins were united in marriage. Survivors include his wife, Linda, of the home; two sons, Chuck Sweat II and Daniel Sweat, both of Springdale, AR; two daughters, Delores Hull, and husband Stanley, of Springdale and Elizabeth Crow, and husband Donnie, of Dardanelle, AR; four grandchildren, Brandon, Toby, Ashley and Justin; five brothers, Brian, Art, Elmer, Leslie and Donnie; five sisters, Pepper, Phyllis, Robin, Toni and Beverly; and step-brother and step-sisters, Ricky Sweat, Cindy Hobbs and Dorothy. 

Charles was preceded in death by one brother, Bruce.

Coyla Mae (Lesher) Nutter, 91, passed away Monday, August 25, 2014, at Regional West Medial Center in Scottsbluff. Born on August 14, 1923 near Newport, Neb. to Leonard Hannibal and Mabel Alva (Scott) Lesher. The Lesher family lived near Newport, Neb.; Rose, Neb.; Clinton, Iowa; Merna, Neb. and Thedford, Neb. Coyla graduated from Thedford High School in 1941. After completing her Normal School training, she taught school for one year at the Dismal School in Thomas County.

On April 24, 1942, Coyla married Charles Frederick Nutter in Thedford, Neb. at the home of the bride's parents. Three children were born to this union. The family lived in Thedford, Broken Bow, Valentine, Niobrara, O'Neill, Ainsworth, Bridgeport and Lincoln through the years as Charles was employed by the Nebraska Highway Department. He served as a civil engineer in Bridge Design and as Deputy State Engineer.


Coyla served many years as Sunday School teacher in Lincoln's 2nd Baptist and as Activity Director at Eastmont Towers. Thoughout her life, she loved singing in several church choirs and community choirs.

Coyla is survived by her daughter, Karon and Kent Harvey;, daughter, Alma and Mike Johnson; son, Dennis and Jana Nutter; 7 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.


Funeral services will be held at the Assembly of God Church in Thedford, Neb. on Friday, September 5, 2014, at 1 p.m. Burial will take place at Hillcrest Cemetery in Thedford.
