Betty Jo Brown passed away Thursday, July 1, 2010, at her home in Reserve, NM.
She was born near Pep, NM, in her grandmothers living room on May 17, 1935, the first of 10 children to Clem and Annie Swann. She married Dwight Brown on July 10, 1952. They raised their children in Colorado and eventually moved back to New Mexico. They have been long time residents of the Gila Area, living in the Mimbres, Gila Hot Springs, Cliff and retired in Reserve. She devoted her life to God and her family, known to be a great cook, loving wife and doting mother and grandmother. She also enjoyed doing crafts, especially plastic canvas. She is loved and will be missed.
Mrs. Brown is survived by her husband of 58 years, Dwight; son, Stephen Brown and his wife, Jeanne of Albuquerque; son, Danny Brown and his wife, Julie, and their children, Cody Brown, Shae Ray and husband, Aric, Carly Morales and husband, Junior from the Silver City area; daughter, Cheryl Uzueta and husband, Tim, of Reserve, NM, and their daughters, Tanya and Katie Uzueta, of Albeqquerque; son, Joshua Brown of Reserve, and his sons, Isaac and Dominique Brown of Ruidoso, NM. Also surviving are 10 great grand-children, Justin and Kaylee Anderson; Audrie Ray; Isaiah, Mathew, Jake, Alyssa, Jeremiah Morales, Esperanza Rael, Isaiah Maynes; her brother, Alvin Swann and his wife, Thelma of Clovis, NM; her sisters, Doris Pijanowski of Bosier City, LA; Evie Thornton and her husband, Roy; Marlene Gibson and brother, Paul Swann all from the Clovis area.
Preceding Mrs. Brown in death are her parents; her daughter, Linda Kay Brown; her sisters, Peggy Mcherson, Venoy Price, Loretta Dudley and Eva Gillian.
A memorial will be held at Danny and Julie's home in Silver City at 2:00 pm on July 10, 2010.

She married Frank Price June 16, 1955 in Clovis.  She was a member of Sandia Baptist Church.
She is survived by three sons, Franklin Price (Tammy) of Boise, Idaho, Darrel Price of Clovis and Patrick Price (Neicee) of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; 2 grandsons, Brandon Price and Charles Price; 4 sisters, Betty Brown (Dwight) of Reserve, New Mexico, Doris Pijanowski of Bossier City, Louisiana, Evie Thornton (Roy) of Clovis and Marlene Gibson of Clovis; 2 brothers, Alvin Swann (Thelma) of Broadview, New Mexico and Paul Swann of Texico, New Mexico and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Frank Price in October 1994; her parents; 4 sisters, Peggy McPherson, Eva Gillean, Loretta Dudly and Sharon Swann.

CLOVIS, N.M. - Peggy Jean Swann McPherson, 67, died Tuesday, April 29, 2008, in Albuquerque.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Muffley Funeral Home.
Mrs. McPherson was born Aug. 11, 1940, in Portales to Clem and Annie Swann. She retired from Qwest in 2001 after 25 years of service.
Survivors include a son, Roy McPherson of Albuquerque; a daughter, Jana Carlisle of Gilbert, Ariz.; five grandchildren; two great-grandsons; and eight siblings, Betty Brown, Venoy Price, Alvin Swann, Doris Pijanowski, Eva Gillian, Evie Thornton, Marlene Gibson and Paul Swann.

She is also survived by siblings, twin sister, Evie Thornton and husband, Roy, Doris Pijanowski and husband, Pidge, Betty Brown and husband, Dwight, Venoy Price, Marlene Gibson, Alvin Swann and wife, Thelma, and Paul Swann; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Eva had been an employee of the Choctaw Nation for over 10 years and had met and loved many people from that experience. She was dearly loved by her family and friends. She always had a great love for music and dance, but her greatest love was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had a kind heart and loved many people. She will be missed by all of those who love her.

Eva was born Oct. 24, 1943, in Portales, N.M. She had been an employee of the Choctaw Nation for more than 10 years, and had met and loved many people from that experience.
Survivors include two sons, Jack Gillean Jr. of Paris, Texas, and Scott Gillean of Keota, Okla.; a daughter, Cheri Stacy and husband Randy of Hugo, Okla.; 17 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; seven brothers and sisters, Evie Thornton, Doris Pijanowski, Betty Brown, Venoy Price, Marlene Gibson, Alvin Swann and Paul Swann.

Moving to Clovis from Portales as a young girl. She was a member of Prince Street Baptist Church and fami¬ly members said she loved to water ski.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Sharon.

She is survived by two sons, Floyd Dudley (and wife, Teresa) and Larry Dudley, all of Clovis; six grandchildren, Trevor and Celeste Dudley, Justin and Sarah Ruther and Jessica and Amber Fulgham; seven sisters, Betty Brown (Dwight) of Reserve, Venoy Price, Marlene Gibson and Evie Thornton (Roy), all of Clovis, Peggy McPherson of Albuquerque, Doris Pijanowski (P.J.) of Bossier City, La., and Eva Gillean of Hugo, Okla.; two brothers, Alvin Swann (Thelma) of Broadview and Paul Swann of Texico, New Mexico; and numerous nieces and nephews

Cremation will take place and a memorial service will be held on Monday at 6:00 p.m. at the Steed-Todd Chapel.

CLOVIS, N.M. - Eureka "Marlene" Gibson, 63, died Thursday, June 16, 2011.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Muffley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Eric Thomason, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Mount Zion Cemetery in Dora.
Mrs. Gibson was born Sept. 2, 1947, in Portales to Clemens Williams and Annie Belle Capps Swann. She enjoyed dancing, cooking, baking and spending time with family, grandchildren, friends, extended family and her dog, Missy.
Survivors include her two daughters, Tonya Heaton and Donna Jordi, both of Clovis; a son, William Womack of Clovis; two sisters, Evie Thornton of Clovis and Doris Pijanowski of Bossier City, La.; two brothers, Alvin Swann of Broadview and Paul Swann of Texico; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be to Plains Regional Home Healthcare and Hospice, 2217 Dillon St., Clovis, NM 88101.

Mrs. Carol Reedy of southwest of Knob Noster received word on Tuesday of the death in action of her brother, Pvt. Lee Wayne Corman, on Luzon island in the Philippines April 24.

Pvt. Corman, born and reared in Cole Camp, lived near Sedalia a few years, later going to the state of California where he worked in an aircraft factory before entering the army last July. He was sent to the southwest Pacific in December, 1944.

Surviving are his wife and two children of Downey, Calif., his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Corman of Cole Camp, two brothers, Pfc. Clark H. Corman, stationed in Paris, France and Scott Corman of Chicago; a half-brother Ray Corman, Montrose, Colo.; three half sisters, Mrs. Carol Reedy, previously mentioned, Mrs. Arthur Reedy of Cole Camp and Mrs. Louis Hi’ker of Independence.

A pretty home wedding was solemnized about noon Friday, November 17 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Penney, at Lowry City, when Miss Wilda Penney became the bride of Mr. Wayne Corman of Independence, Mo., son of Mr. and Mrs. John Corman of Cole Camp.

The ring ceremony was performed by Rev. Sperry of Clinton, in the living room of the Penney home, in the presence of members of both families. The bride’s dress was a neutral blue with matching accessories. She carried an arm bouquet of white and pink chrysanthemums and ferns, sent to her by her sisters, of the State of California. Their attendants were Carroll Reedy, uncle of the bride and Miss Florence Reedy, cousin.

Following the ceremony a dinner was served. The wedding cake an angel food formed the centerpiece. It was decorated in white and pink topped with a miniature bride and groom. The house was decorated with chrysanthemums and ferns. The bride and groom received many useful gifts. Those attending the wedding were: Mrs. Ora Townsend of Des Moines, Iowa and Mrs. John Neill, Brookfield, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Reedy, Cole Camp, Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Reedy and daughters of Knob Noster.

The bride was reared in Lowry City and is a graduate of Lowry City high school with the class of 1938. The bridegroom was reared on a farm near Cole Camp, attended the rural schools, finishing at High Point. He also attended Smith- Cotton high school in Sedalia. Mr. and Mrs. Corman will be at home to their friends in an apartment in Kansas City where the bridegroom is employed.

Lynn was a grandmother to 8 grandkids and 5 great-grandkids. Lynn was born in Barrie, Ontario on March 29, 1952. Most of her career was spent working in her community at Bowness Auto Parts where she touched the lives of many people. Lynn was a bright and caring spirit to those who knew her and a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved to spend time at home with her "boys", two dogs who patiently waited by the door every day until she arrived back home. Lynn loved to watch scary movies but also to scare her children and their friends whenever there was a sleep over. Mom, you are loved greatly and you will be missed more than you could ever know. EBERHARDT--Adam Eberhardt was born at Odessa, Russia, Nov. 8, 1868; and died in Palo Alto Jan. 17, 1953. More than 60 years ago he became a Seventh-day Adventist and was faithful to the end. He is survived by his wife, Rose; 6 sons, Jacob, William, Edward, James, Jullian, and Hemuth; 3 daughters, Emelia Gould, Juanita Ragsdale, and Florence Slater; 28 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Survivors are his wife, Stella; sons, Elmer and Glenn; daughter, Evelyn Dick; brothers, Jake, Ed, Jim, Julius, and Helmuth; and sisters, Emelia Gould, Juanita Ragsdale, and Florence Slater.

William Wilkerson Stevenson, age about 70, ex-Confederate soldier, died at the home of his son at Tip Top, on the 20th, after a few days illness, and was buried at John Bowmans on the 22nd. Mr. Stevenson was the father of some 17 or 18 children, having been married 3 times.
