Funeral services for William Daniel Harden, 60, former Nashville resident who died Friday morning in Chicago of a heart attack, will be held tomorrow morning at 10:30 o’clock at the John C. Roesch and Company Funeral Home. The Rev. Boyd S. Fielder will officiate and burial will be in Gallatin Cemetery.

Mr. Harden died after four years of failing health.

A native of Lewisburg, he moved to Nashville as a boy and was educated in the city schools. He lived here, being engaged in the printing business, until 28 years ago when he moved to Chicago. There he was in the real estate business and operated operated an apartment house.

In 1906 he married Miss Mary Lee of Nashville who survives.

He was a member of the Methodist church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Miss Mary Lee Harden of Chicago; two sons, Dan Harden of Oradell, N. J., and Cpl. Ralph Harden of the army, now in Utah; three half-brothers, John, Joe and Robert Harden; four half-sisters, Mrs. E. E. Horan, Mrs. Carol Gower, Miss Elizabeth Gartner and Mrs. Emma Puryear; and an aunt, Mrs. Marshall Metz, all of Nashville.

BLUE MOUNTAIN—Services for William G. “Bill” Gatlin Jr., 72, of 205 Rice St., Blue Mountain, will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, Anniston, with Rev. Ken Ballard officiating. Burial will be in Eulaton First Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 9 tonight.

Mr. Gatlin died Monday at Regional Medical Center.

Survivors include his wife, Helen D. Gatlin of Blue Mountain; two daughters, Pat Gatline of Anniston and Carol Richards of Arab; a son, Barry Gatlin of Weaver; a sister, Gracie Mae Lockridge of Munford; two brothers, Earnest Gatlin of Oxford and Wallace Gatlin of Coldwater, three grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Glenn Robinson, John Perry, Terry Smith, Robert Brady, Ratemond Parker, Earl Huddleston and Howard Faulkner. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Former Stewardship Sunday School Class at Northside Baptist Church in Anniston, coworkers and radio shop employees at Anniston Army Depot.

A Sycamore native, Mr. Gatlin had lived in Calhoun county most of his life. He was a World War II Army veteran, where he served in the 3rd Infantry Division. He retired from Anniston Army Depot after 37 years of service, and he was a member of the Church of Cross in Anniston.

Mrs. Gatlin was a native of Talladega County and a resident of Calhoun County most of her life. She retired from Optical Warehouse after several years of service and was a substitute teacher for 12 years in Calhoun County School system. She served two terms on the Calhoun County Democratic Executive Committee. She taught Sunday School for 35 years at Northside Baptist Church and was a member of Church of the Cross.

MR. A.R. NORWOOD

Mr. Albert R Norwood, 87, of 630 Peters St., died Monday evening (Nov. 12) at 7:55 in the Erlanger Medical Center from injuries received in an automobile accident on Oct. 5, 1990.

Mr. Norwood was born in Morgan County, Ala., July 16, 1903, a son of Rufus and Berta Gatlin Norwood. He was a retired employee of the Crane Company of Chattanooga, Tenn., and was a member of Eastgate Baptist Church.

Survivors include, his widow, Avis Elizabeth Reed Norwood of Calhoun; a daughter, Mrs. Alberta N. Webb of Chattanooga; stepdaughter, Mrs. Jane J. Pride of Florence, Ala.; three step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral was at 11 a.m. Wednesday (Nov. 14, 1990) from the Eastgate Baptist Church with Rev. Clinton Green conducting the services. Music was arranged by Kathy Tippens, Sherry Chapman, Gina Daniel and Nancy Luckett.

Pallbearers included, Rev. Jimmy Faith, A.B. Sutherland, Billy Lackey, Gene Johnson, Dale Hice and Lum Lackey. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Men’s Bible Class of Eastgate Baptist Church.

Interment was in Chattanooga Memorial Park at 1 p.m. Wednesday with Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home in Calhoun in charge of arrangements.
