Alta Cornelia Carse (Richmond), who died in Lincoln on Sept. 14, 1945, was born Nov. 19, 1897, in Goldfield, Ia. When she was two years old, her parents moved to Illinois. She lived in Illinois and Indiana until she was 16 years old and then went to North Dakota with her family where she lived until she came to Lincoln in 1918.

Mrs. Richmond was a member of Emmanuel Methodist church after she first came to Lincoln and since returning from Arkansas she has been a member of Warren Methodist church. She has always maintained an interest in church work and was a Sunday school teacher for many years. She was a member of Utica Chapter Number 199, Order of Eastern Star.

She has been an active leader in the parent-teacher association in Nebraska, having been past president of Hawthorne school P.T.A., and a past director of Lincoln District Number 1. Because of ill health Mrs. Richmond recently resigned as state director of districts.

On Dec. 15, 1923, she was united in marriage with Russell Francis Richmond of Utica, Neb. To them were born two children; Lois Jean and Ruth Ann. In addition to these she is survived by her mother, Mrs. Mary E. Carse of Lincoln, two sisters, Edith Cars of Portland, Ore., and Mrs. Hans Hanson of Goldfield, Ia.; two brothers, Ray and Will Carse of Fort Scott, Kas.

Funeral services were held at Warren Methodist church in Lincoln on Tuesday, Sept. 18, at 2 p.m., with Rev. John P. Brooks officiating. Interment was in Wyuka cemetery in Lincoln.

Funeral services for B. A. Burleson, 62, who died Monday at Memorial hospital will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday from the First Baptist Church in Melrose with the Rev. David Crow officiating. Burial will be in the Melrose Cemetery under the direction of Steed-Todd Funeral Home.

Mr. Burleson was born Jan. 5, 1914 in Rochester, Tex. He resided in Melrose and was employed by the City of Melrose.

Survivors include his widow, Modean of the home in Melrose; five sons, Lyndon Pierce of Albuquerque, Bennie Burleson, Jr. of Lubbock, Tex., Joe Burleson of Brownfield, Tex., J.L. Burleson of Clovis, and Kenneth Burleson of the home; five daughters; Mrs. Edith Henson of Bovina, Tex., Mrs. June Tucker of Oklahoma, Mrs. Vicki Burke of Clovis, Mrs. Jeannette Byrd of Floyd, and Miss Rebecca Burleson of the home; three brothers Willie Burleson of Lubbock, Tex., Hollis Burleson of California, and Jack Burleson of Burns Flat, Okla.; six sisters, Mrs. Loreen Lierson of Fort Worth, Tex., Mrs. Faye Pierson of Apple Valley, Calif.; Mrs. Ida Matey of Donna, Tex., Mrs. Ruby Dodson of Portales, Mrs. Annie Rachael and Mrs. Lou Young both of Lubbock, Tex.; and 17 grandchildren.

Casketbearers will be Wayne Dodson, Harold Dodson, Ray Burke, Verl Henson, Jerry Bradford, and Joe Burleson. Honorary bearers will be Mr. Felands and Ronnie Knight.
