Conrad Charles Hultquist, son of Frederick and Ellen Sjolander Hultquist, was born at Fairbury, Nebr., on February 19, 1912, and died at the Belleville Health Care Center at Belleville on November 8, 1980, at the age of 68 years, 8 months, and 19 days.
He graduated from Belleville High School with the class of 1931.
He was united in marriage to Dorothy Yost on April 13,1940, and to this union two sons were born.
He was a member of the United Presbyterian Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy of the home; two sons, William C. Hultquist of Abingdon, Ill., John C. Hultquist of Bishop, Calif.; three grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the United Presbyterian Church of Belleville, Kansas on Tuesday, November 11, conducted by the Rev. Robert League. Following cremation, interment will be in Belleville cemetery.

Miss Dorothy Yost, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Yost, Belleville, and Conard C Hultquist, son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Van Aken, also of Belleville, were united in marriage Saturday morning, April 13, at Las Vegas, Nev. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. C. A. Sloan of the First Baptist church. The bride chose a navy sheer with navy accessories for the ceremony, following which they went to Boulder Dam. They will be at home at 1926 East Fourteenth, La Frieda Court, in Long Beach, Cal., where Mr. Hultquist has been employed by an oil corporation since December.

John C. ‘Swede' Hultquist
1945-2004
A private family gathering will be held on August 6, 2004 in Sun Lakes, Ariz. for John C. "Swede" Hultquist, who died at his home on July 31, 2004.
John, known by his friends as "Swede," was born in Long Beach on Aug. 1, 1945 and lived in the Owens Valley for 40 years. He was 58.
Swede graduated from Big Pine High School in 1963 and later became a carpenter. He was a Vietnam veteran and earned numerous citations, including the Air Medal Oak Leaf Cluster, Vietnam Service Medal, the Bronze Service Star and two Purple Hearts.
An avid fisherman, Swede spent many hours testing his skills in Owens Valley streams. He treasured the quiet solitude of long walks in the mountains searching for Native American artifacts and amassed an impressive collection of arrowheads.
Swede is survived by his wife, Lydia C. Hultquist of Sun Lakes, Ariz.; his mother-in-law, Artha Dyer of Big Pine and his father-in-law, Leonard Dyer, also of Big Pine; and his faithful dog, "Bandit." Swede will be remembered and missed by those who knew and loved him.

Carl Gustaf Sjolander was born in Scandia, Kans., April 11, 1889 and died at his ome in Courtland, December 9, 1918, at the age of 29 years 7 months and 28 days.
He was married to Miss Clara Studer of Randall, Kans., August 20, 1912. Up until about two weeks before his death he owned and operated the Courtland Dray Line, which he had sold to D. E. Pilcher.
He leaves to mourn his death his wife, mother, Mrs. Hannah Sallman, two brothers, John of Beaver and Frank of Courtland; three sisters, Mrs. Annie Pilcher of Courtland, Mrs. Ellen Hultquist of Portland, Ore., and Mrs. Ada Wray of Courtland.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 10. Interment was made in the Courtland cemetery.
